God and the antelope in the bush |
A path of reasoning for the thinking enquirer - atheist, agnostic, of any or no faith. Two people are walking in wild country. One sees an antelope in a distant bush. The other does not! Similarly, some people see God in the universe while others do not. The distinction is made between observable facts and reasoning faith. Beginning with evidence which is available to all, the argument is developed in which 'facts' and 'faith' are kept in step. The same question is applied to God as to an antelope—why hide in a bish/universe? Why is the antelope/God hidden from people? Logical reasoning points to the Christian conclusion, but does not make it inescapable. |

The Greatest story ever told |
While the compiler was a missionary in Africa, he noted that some senior African leaders looked up in their own African language Bibles references which appeared at the foot of the pages of the well-known Daily Light. This gave them a series of well-liniked verses. The need for a set of daily readings of a much more extended nature was apparaent. The Greatest story ever told tells the Bible story in terms of tjhe events recorded in it from Genesis to the apostolic era in a series of 365 daily readings. A brief introduction to each event is followed by related quotations from the Bible. A further 26 readings are appropriate for special events. Hereis a source of themes for a Pastor, Church teacher, leader of a study group or fellowship meeting or head of family. Designed especially for areas of the world where there are few such aids, these readings combine Bible teaching and devotional meditation. |
